Gabions are modular building blocks formed of wire mesh and filled on site with rock, stone or crushed concrete. They are filled on the premises, often with locally available materials and are an effective and relatively inexpensive solution for both landscaping and structural applications.

Gabions are flexible and porous, they can absorb some wave and wind energy, consequently reducing the erosion problems associated with impermeable sea defences such as concrete seawalls.

Gabions can be placed as sloping “mattresses” or as near vertical cubic baskets, They can be used as retaining walls during soil stabilisation projects or could be used within a garden to make bench seating or even a water feature.

Gabions have many uses for outdoor applications and are regularly used in industries ranging from agriculture, transport and construction to retail and horticulture.

Helicals are long springs, 25mm in diameter. They are installed along the vertices of the basket, and bind the horizontal and vertical panels of the gabion together.

Joining pins work in unison with helicals to join multiple helicaled gabions together - they are placed between two helicals of opposing gabions to interlock both baskets together.

Gabion Clips can be used in unison with helicals or independently. The clips are used during the assembly to create a hinge lid for each gabion.

Once the gabion is filled on site, the clips can be used to fasten the lid of the gabion in place.

Line wire can be used as an alternative to the helicals and is complimentary with all gabion orders. It is used to join corners, lids and gabions together.

Line wire allows for a flush finish when the gabions are installed in comparison to helicals. However, many people prefer the visual appeal of the helical on installed baskets.
